Registrar’s Report: John C. reported the following updates:

  1. A late fee post card was created. This was reviewed and discussed. Board agreed it was needed.
  2. A revised registration form with late fee message on front, not back was made.
  3. Registration fees increased by $10.00 per player to reflect added fee imposed by Rec. department to NYSA per player. Also NYSA looking to develop new fields that will cost about 200K. Family fee max $120.00. Late fee remains unchanged at $25.00. Discussion held. John motioned for board to accept increase in fees. Brian seconded. All in favor.
  4. A U7 box was added to registration form. Discussion held on new age division, coed or separate. Decided to wait for numbers of registered players before making final decision. U6 remains coed, U8 separate.

John discussed the Jamboree and the details for the event. Will be held rain or shine. NYSA needs permit for pavilion. John is looking for volunteers.

John reported that registration forms are pre-printed and will be given to coaches to hand out to their players.

Janine Colleran reported that there are no movement requests for Assabet teams. Janine reported that most of the late registrations were from the U12 boys group. This created problems for placing players on teams that were already full. Late fee post card and enforcement will hopefully help with this problem.

Coach Coordinator’s Report:Angela reported that the there was a parental complaint regarding a coach and parent requested player be moved off the team. The coach was contacted and felt he was instructive and positive. No other complaints received regarding this coach. Angela will go watch a game to evaluate.

Angela will be getting together with John C. to compile a list of licenses and determine which courses are best to offer NYSA in the near future.

Travel Team Coordinator’s Report: Don reviewed lists of travel coaches and read final votes for each age group.

The A team travel coaches are as follows:
BU10 Bob Kody GU10 Angela Rose
BU12 John Frederick GU12 Darrell Lemmerman
BU14 Bob Frazitta GU14 Rich Van Nostrand

Kim motioned to accept boy’s coaches. Brain seconded. All in favor.
Janine motioned to accept girl’s coaches. Joan seconded. All in favor.

Don will contact new coaches and other applicants to inform everyone who applied of the decisions. The B and C coaches will be determined at the next meeting after the A teams are selected.

Referee Coordinator’s Report: No report given.

Field Maintenance Coordinator’s Report: Mike reported that there is a problem with field D and softball. Softball has permit to begin at 7:00. Teams on that field must move back for last half hour of practice. Mike reported that we need to anchor goals and will use sandbags to do so. Mike will also call Ron at U Save to look into new type of bags to anchor goals.

Field Scheduling Coordinator’s Report: Nothing to report.

Fundraiser Report: Joan discussed summer camps and needs disc with player names and addresses for direct mailing by MLS. FOD running smoothly. Everyone has shown up except one coach. Joan and John C. covered. Joan will be calling Coca-Cola for new drink cooler. Old one needs to be replaced. Also need new coffee maker. Board approved of the purchase of new coffee maker.

Juniper Hills Ice Cream truck in parking lot during FOD hours. Not allowed to be there. Call police if truck does not leave.

Joan reported that flags are being left out on Sundays. Bob will email coaches to remind them to bring field flags in at the end of the day.

Equipment Coordinator’s Report: Nothing to report.

New Business: Soccerfest can let go one more month then a decision has to be made. Stormwatch is going out with a request for Soccerfest volunteers. The new NYSA store items will also be in the Stormwatch.

NYSA needs to keep working on getting photos and articles into local papers.

Discussion was held on new future fields. Bob mentioned there is support from Rec. Dept., Rec. Board, and DPW dept. for new fields. Fish and game not enough space for soccer fields. Will use area adjacent to Rt.135 fields to develop. Bob will continue to work on this issue.

Discussion was held as to limiting the number of coaches on the team's sideline. John C. motioned to limit the number to three coaches. Angela seconded. All in favor.

Bob Frazitta requested that NYSA allow 6 southboro U14 boys to tryout for Northboro travel teams. Southboro does not have the number to field a travel U14B team. Discussion held. Board decided not to open tryouts to other towns, including Southboro, as this insures that the eligible Northboro players trying out get placed on a team.

Mike Turpin motioned to adjourn the meeting. Janine seconded. All in favor.

Meeting adjourned at 9:38 p.m.
