Safety on the Soccer Field


The following rules apply to ALL Northboro Youth Soccer teams U6 to U18

Uniforms and Equipment

  • Prior to the start of the game the referee will check all players for proper uniform and equipment. The referee has final say on all equipment decisions.
  • All players are required to wear shin guards.
  • Shin guard are to be covered and are worn under the players socks.
  • All players should wear soccer cleats, or flats.
  • Baseball cleats or cleats with a “center toe” cleat are not allowed.
  • No jewelry is allowed, including necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.
  • All necklaces, bracelets, and pierced earrings or studs are to be removed. Earrings or studs that are taped over are NOT allowed.
  • NO hard casts or splints are allowed.
  • Elbow and knee braces must be covered in protective padding.

Parents and Spectators

  • Spectators should remain a minimum of 3 ft back from the touchline.
  • Spectators are not allowed on the players side of the field or behind the goal lines.
  • Parents keep small children and siblings in control, and do not let them wander onto a soccer field that is in use.
